E-commerce product categories
These pages are replicas of the administration system, without the functionality.

Use the headings below and near the bottom of the page to navigate the visual help pages (follow the links as you would if you were logged into your control panel). Simply work your way to the point at which you are stuck and read the relevant notes.

Categories set up page
On this page you can add, edit and delete categories and alter the sales pages.

Add category:- If you wish to add a category, or edit existing categories it is done here.
Category name:
The name which appears as the heading for the category in the sales pages. These appear alphabetically. If you want categories in a certain order you must add numbers before them.
Category Description:
This is a free text area which appears at the top of all the category product listing pages.
This button updates the category listed above and places it in the list below:
  

List of categories:-
Categories you have created appear here and you can edit them (which makes them appear in the above boxes for editing) or delete them. You can only delete a category if there are no products associated with it.

Deletes the category (not if there are any products in - these must be deleted first in the products page

Sales page set up:- (list of categories)
The sales page (or pages depending upon the number of categories you have) lists the categories that you have in your online store.
Template page that sales pages use as standard:
This is the layout html used as the basis of the sales and category pages. The page is uploaded to the standard directory by FTP within the shopping directory. If you have several templates available you can swap the site over as soon as you alter the reference in this section. If you alter this page the whole sales and category sections immediately change to reflect this.
Categories listed per sales page:
This decides how many categories are listed per sales page. If you have 10 here and you have 11 categories, the first sales page will produce a next and 2 at the bottom to allow users to see the next section.
Title on sales page:
The title at the top of the sales page(s).
Text on sales page:
This is a free text area which appears at the top of all the sales (category listing) pages.
Download
Allows e-mailing of the sales page text for backup purposes. This is not currently available for categories. To make back up of text within a category you will need to copy and paste this into a text editor and then save it.
